Devon Top - Making the Impossible Possible

Hello Everyone!

I have been unbelievably busy with everything but sewing lately! However, I had today off and I was determined to squeeze in some sewing..... finally! It's been a few weeks! I sewed a button on my husbands pants! Then got down to business, lol!!!!  I tested a pattern for my two favorite people, Carla and Jennifer! The best part is that this newest pattern is named for my daughter, Devon! Yup! We are both so thrilled!

Here is Devon wearing the Leighanna top/dress, which is the child-sized version of the grown-up Devon top. Confused?
The Devon top/dress has lots of options including different length sleeves and sleeve hemlines, two necklines and optional ways to finish, as well as lots of different hem lengths and options. It's fabulous!!! I chose to have my testing version be a little more free-fitting so I went up an entire size! I made it a cross between a tunic and dress length and added the ruffle to the bottom. It was super simple to stitch up....something anyone, even a beginner, could finish in a day! Because of all of the sizes and options and fabric combinations possible, this pattern is so flexible. It is perfect for any age, size or shape. And it is super stylish and comfortable at the same time.

How hard is it to find all of that in one pattern??? Usually impossible except for genius talents of the Scientific Seamstress, Carla Crim, and Sis Boom's, Jennifer Paganelli, who make the impossible possible!

Here is my side-kick trying it on for size! I am wearing it to work tomorrow.....I am so excited!!!

So here is the bell sleeve option with the hemmed ruffle. I chose a contrasting fabric:

Here is the neckline. I chose to use elastic and a ribbon bow :

Here is the ruffle hem...a delicate touch. Perfect to pair with leggins or jeans!
Here is a pic of the front:

And here is the back:

This pattern will be available soon after completing its extensive testing and editing process!

I will definitely be making a few more of these Devon Tops/Dresses....perfect for spring! According to my poor daffodils, it's just around the corner!

Coming soon: I will start on the last three outfits for our Disney trip and keep you posted on the release of the Devon Top/Dress!
 Have a great week everyone!!!

God Bless,
Cathy

Cinderella Gown

Hello and Happy New Year!

I hope this year finds you healthy and sewing up a storm during these cold winter months! I found some time this past weekend to complete a project for our trip to Disney. My girls are going to participate in a make-over at the Bibbidy Bobbidy Boutique and needed something to wear. I had already made a dress for my daughter, Devon, that she had requested: Ariel's Dinner Dress.....

And I still had to make my other daughter's Cinderella dress. I used similar fabric in blue to make hers. Here's the inspiration picture....

And working along on the bodice...

Before hemming....

And the completed dress! I tried to take pictures outside but is was a bit windy...lol! Blew the whole thing over! So here is the bow I added to the back. It needed something!

 The front...

 The side...
I finally came inside....brrrrr! It actually snowed today! So here are some inside pics before we take down the tree!

I hope both girls really enjoy their appointment and dresses! I don't think I can fit the pettiskirt in the suitcase so they may not be as "fluffy" when worn in the parks but I am sure they will still like to be dressed up! I have an Ariel necklace already and I may need to buy a Cinderella one before the trip! So I looked over my sewing list and I only have a few more outfits to make....so check back soon to see what is next! Thanks for looking!

God Bless,
Cathy
